K-Dog: Now with milkshakes. (And ice cream.)

OK, not now, per se, but soon: the recent renovations at K-Dog & Dune buggy -- PLG's one, true draw-'em-in culinary attraction -- are in preparation for an ice cream and milkshake counter in the back. (Said counter is currently closed over.) Oh, and if you were wondering: it'll be Ciao Bella ice cream. Just in time for bathing suit season...

You gotta love K-Dog for the way they keep their finger on the pulse of the neighborhood and for their willingness to constantly improve. When they first opened, I was a little bit skeptical. After all, a number of K-Dog's predecessors have suffered from poor planning. Many ended up failing soon after they opened. So, when K-Dog came on the scene with such an uncatchy name (K-Dog & Dunebuggy) and began offering coffee in a fairly bland, non-descript setting, I was concerned they wouldn't make it, and I think many of us were. However, they focused relentlessly on getting to know each and every customer and making sure everyone knew that we were all welcome. They also focused on providing great food and mixing up their daily selections. In just over a year, they have proved all their skeptics wrong - PLG CAN support a local cafe. They have become an institution, and they are getting better all the time. Congratulations K-Dog! Can't wait for Ciao Bella!
